Hello from South Carolina! :)
As you probably figured out by now, we're all moved in. Well, just the living things. The belongings are scheduled to arrive tomorrow in the world's largest semi truck. But all pets and people are here, at least.
Mom and Lou are back in Michigan now, but here's the highlights from the trip!
We left at 6:45 am or so, rather later than we wanted, mostly due to scared cat peeing all over while trying to mush other scared cat into carrier with him. The drive was uneventful with the exception of a traffic jam in Ann Arbor, construction in Cincinatti, and a freak rainstorm in the mountains of Kentucky/Tennessee combined with heavy fog and zero visibility. Which was probably good, considering the cliffs on the side of the road! :)
If you ever travel with Mom and Lou, be sure to bring your umbrella. Every time we went to go somewhere, it rained, then when we got done, it got nice and sunny. They brought raincoats. Mine was in Michigan. Hence the oompa loompa 99cent poncho from Caesar's Head.
Caesar's Head National Park, SC
So at Caesar's Head I bought a book of waterfalls, and found the falls that I had picked out last week that we should go to visit while they were here. And then we found this little roadside pullout with all these parked cars. So we stopped, and saw this:
Which coincidentally, after consulting the recently purchased book o' falls, is in fact that same waterfall I had picked out for us to go to. So, here you have it. Lower Wildcat Falls. Enjoy.
Falls on the Reedy (Greenville)
No trip to SC is complete without visiting Greenville. And the Falls on the Reedy River, both the manmade and the natural falls. We had lunch at the Lazy Goat next to some falls, and walked down the river trail and saw some wonderful landscaping. Ask Mom about all the little shops where she wants to go Christmas shopping in Greenville! We also got Blue Frog smoothies. mmmmm....
